Sas is a fourth-year student at North-West University, focusing on early warnings in the maize triangle of South Africa. His research explores how farmers use and understand the resources that are available to the farmers and how they use these systems for their planting and harvesting strategies. He focusses on briding the gap between farmers and the early warning systems available and also to help develop better warning systems for farmers in the maize triangle and also the rest of South Africa.
