Wilma Krausche is a Swedish postgraduate student at Lund University, Sweden. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering and is currently pursuing a master’s in Risk Management and Safety Engineering. In collaboration with Hanna Norrestam, she is conducting her master’s thesis in disaster management, focusing on early warning systems for fires.
Her study examines early warning systems for veld and urban fires in the Eastern Cape, with a particular focus on the role of rescue services and other agencies involved in fire preparedness and response. The research aims to identify the early warning information these stakeholders require, how warnings are communicated, and how this information is utilized to enhance emergency response effectiveness.
